Job Summary

Dynamic Edge Solutions are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, Systems Engineer to join our Helpdesk and Field Engineer Team in Aberdeen. The role will include Proactive and Reactive Helpdesk Support, Client Site Visits and Project Work. The right candidate will have strong Desktop experience and at least moderate Server experience.

 

This is a customer-facing role which offers a great deal of mentoring from experienced engineers and customer support personnel as well as development possibilities.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • To respond and service 1st and 2nd line Helpdesk support calls at Desktop and Infrastructure level, including Comms Technologies, based in the Dynamic Edge Solutions' Aberdeen office
  • Identify and solve 1st and 2nd line Desktop and Infrastructure problems
  • Work with more experienced engineers to troubleshoot issues prior to escalation
  • Escalate tickets according to process
  • Visit client site and represent the company, providing an onsite IT presence for support issues and to build a client relationship
  • Proactively recommend maintenance and improvement tasks for clients where relevant
  • Be involved in infrastructure projects under supervision of more experienced engineers, the Technical Business Manager and Service Delivery Manager
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call standby rota for customer support
  • Ensure documentation is maintained and accurate
  • Work with all other areas of the business as required
  • To carry out other duties as required by the role

  • Required technical skills and experience include:

Technical Experience required

  • Experience of working on a 1st, 2nd line Helpdesk
  • Desktop Support (Windows 7 to 10)
  • Desktop Builds (Windows 7 to 10)
  • Remote Desktop Support (Windows RDS, Citrix etc)
  • Server Administration Desirable (Windows Server 2008 to 2016)
  • Server Builds Desirable (Windows Server 2008 to 2016)
  • Active Directory Administration
  • Network Storage Administration
  • Basic Network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Infrastructure Support (at least 1st line skill level)
  • Office 365 (particularly Exchange Online and Sharepoint Online) experience is desirable
  • SIP Telephony experience is desirable
  • Infrastructure Build experience is desirable

Salary is negotiable and dependant on experience.
