Job Summary

Dynamic Edge Solutions are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, Systems Engineer to join our Helpdesk Team in Inverness. The role will include Proactive and Reactive Helpdesk Support. The right candidate will have strong Desktop experience and some Server Administration experience is desirable.

This is a customer-facing role (phone and email) which offers a great deal of mentoring from experienced engineers and customer support personnel as well as development possibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • To respond and assess frontline Helpdesk support calls at Desktop and Infrastructure level, including Comms Technologies, based in the Dynamic Edge Solutions' Inverness office
  • Identify and solve 1st line Desktop problems
  • Work with more experienced engineers to troubleshoot issues prior to escalation
  • Escalate tickets according to process
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call standby rota for customer support
  • Ensure documentation is maintained and accurate
  • Work with all other areas of the business as required
  • To carry out other duties as required by the role

Required technical skills and experience include:

Technical Experience required

  • Experience of working on a 1st line Helpdesk
  • Desktop Support (Windows 7 to 10)
  • Desktop Builds (Windows 7 to 10)
  • Remote Desktop Support (Windows RDS, Citrix etc)
  • Server Administration Desirable (Windows Server 2008 to 2016)
  • Active Directory Administration Desirable
  • Network Storage Administration Desirable
  • Basic Network troubleshooting
  • Infrastructure Support Desirable
  • Office 365 (particularly Exchange Online and Sharepoint Online) experience is desirable
  • SIP Telephony experience is desirable
